clinical breakpoint

Breakpoints are discriminatory antimicrobial concentrations used in the interpretation of results of susceptibility testing to define isolates as susceptible, intermediate or resistant. Clinical breakpoints are for everyday use in the clinical laboratory to advise on patient therapy.
