Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)

DNA sequencing technologies that simultaneously determine the sequence of DNA bases from many thousands (or millions) of DNA templates in a single biochemical reaction volume. Each template molecule is affixed to a solid surface in a spatially separate location, and then amplified to increase signal strength. The sequences of all templates are determined in parallel by the addition of complementary nucleotide bases to a sequencing primer coupled with signal detection from this event.
